What Are Volume Lash Extensions?
Volume lash extensions use handmade fans of ultra-fine extensions. Each fan is attached to a single natural lash. At My Lash Studio, a volume full set has about 90–110 fans per eye, made with 5D to 10D fans. It gives a soft but dramatic, full lash line. For even more drama, our Mega Volume set goes up to about 160 fans per eye. For a lighter version, try the Volume Cute Set (semi-full).
Who Volume Lashes Are For
Volume is for clients who want bold, glamorous lashes every day. Fans are lightweight, so volume is also a good option if your natural lashes are fine or sparse and you still want a full look. It's a favorite for weddings, events and anyone who wants to skip eyeliner and mascara completely.
The Volume Lash Process
A volume full set usually takes about two hours, and Mega Volume about two and a half.
- Consultation: We talk about the look you want, your eye shape and your lifestyle.
- Prep: Your natural lashes are cleansed and your lower lashes are covered with gel pads.
- Application: Your artist hand-makes each fan, then attaches it to one isolated natural lash, building density and shape across the eye.
- Finishing: We check every lash for separation, then brush and style.
- Plan your fills: We help you book your next fill before you leave.
Aftercare for Volume Lashes
- Keep lashes dry for the first 24 hours so the adhesive can fully cure.
- Skip steam, saunas and hot yoga for 24–48 hours.
- Use oil-free cleansers and makeup remover near the eyes.
- Brush lashes gently each morning with a clean spoolie.
- Never pull or pick at extensions. Book a removal if you want them off.
- Sleep on your back or use a silk pillowcase to reduce friction.
Volume sets need fills every 2–3 weeks. Brush daily so the fans stay fluffy and separated.

No. Volume fans are made from very fine extensions, so the total weight stays safe for each natural lash when a trained artist applies them.
What is the difference between volume and mega volume?
Mega volume uses more fans for maximum density and drama. Standard volume is full but softer.
How long does a volume fill take?
Usually about 90 minutes to two hours. It depends on how many weeks it has been since your last appointment.
